It works!

The last couple of times I decided to blog it happened during "regularly scheduled maintenance" or something like that.

Not much has been going on. We're getting closer to the end of baseball season, AWANA only has 5 more Wednesdays, and school will be over before we know it. I'm kind of dreading the summer. It'll be good and bad at the same time I think. I need to start figuring out what I'll do with DS for the two days a week I work. Last summer he went to the day camp at the church school but I don't want him doing that again this summer. Time to call in some friends and family and see what I can arrange.

DD is officially signed up for K as of this week. Still doesn't seem possible. I'll probably cry my eyes out when I drop her off.

Nothing else happening here. Same old same old!!

Don't rock the boat!

The kids are sitting on the couch watching a movie - together - quietly - sssshhhhh! I hope I didn't just jinx it by typing it out!!

It's been an ok week.

DS got to spend some time with a friend two different days. This other boy is homeschooled as of this year so Seth doesn't see him as much as he use to. They were playing here at my house on Tuesday and they were angels! Unlike the 4 year old girl who was here to play with my DD - you gotta watch her close. All my dd has been saying for 3 days was "xxx hit me with the stick!" Yea, I don't doubt it!

While ds was at his friends yesterday I took dd to the roller rink. She's skating like a pro now! Next time I'll actually get to skate too! YEA!!!

We were going to go to the land of the famous mouse today but it's raining here in normally Sunny Southern California so we're stuck at home. We did venture out into the rain long enough to go find plastic eggs for Sunday School on Sunday. DH and I are doing the 2's and 3's class and we're going to have an egg hunt. I did the shopping for my kids last night at Target and they were out of plastic eggs!! Quite annoying!!

Did anybody watch the Amazing Race this week? Man I was holding my breath at the end hoping the hippies weren't going to be eliminated! I don't know how they got ahead of Lake and Michelle but YEA that they did! And the 15 minute penalty drama was unnecessary since Lake and Michelle would have received it also! I hope they manage to stay in until the final four - the race would NOT be the same without them! The previews for next week don't look good though!

American Idol is boring. Survivor is boring. Unanimous is stupid. America's Next Top Model is still fun but starting next week is up against Alias and The Amazing Race so it might now have to be recorded as a rerun the next week instead of on Wed.

We were going to go to the desert tomorrow to check out all the flowers and what not but dh is sick - really sick - a fever and everything. Which reminds me I need to go call the doc for him. I'm hoping he's well enough by tomorrow so we can still go. I'm actually hoping he's got something that they can give him an antibiotic for - then he'll definitely be feeling better tomorrow!

Happy Good Friday to all of you! Although it wasn't really a happy day - it did have to happen for Him to be alive on Sunday though!

Moving right along . . .

Is it Friday yet? The fighting is getting to me - seriously. Seriously!

Thank goodness I worked this morning - I got some peace and quiet!

I don't want to get in the car with those two hooligans ever again! I moved DD (4 1/2) up to a booster seat instead of a 5-point harness. Size wise she is fine and the seat belt fits her perfectly. But now she can lean a lot farther and she takes that oppurtunity to wail on her brother. And he of course can't let it go once she stops. It'll be quiet and peaceful and he'll start in again with his mouth.

It's so annoying! Seriously!

I read somewhere that kids should sit in the back seat until they're 12 but I'm seriously considering moving him to the front so they can't bother each other. Seriously! He's going to be 9 in a couple of months and he's not using a booster seat anymore because he's tall enough for the seat belt to fit him properly. But he'll annoy me with his constant (more constant than it is already) chatter and his touching all the knobs and adjusting the air and the radio. I've got to decide what's better - him annoying me, or him and his sister annoying each other.

My children in the car together is a very strong case for having an only child!

Let the games begin!!

As of 2:45pm both kids are on spring break (or Easter vacation) as it use to be called!!

Thankfully dd (4) had a baseball game today, so instead of fighting and bickering for the last four hours they've only been fighting and bickering for 2 1/2 of those hours! 10 days and counting! ;-)

I'm sure it will be fine. I'm working Mon and Wed morning still so that will give me something to do and a break from the bickering and gives them a break from each other. DD will go to daycare and DS will go to MIL's one day and a friends the other day. One day next week I'm having a friend over and another day a friend of DS's will probably come over. That leaves one more day to amuse the kids. Maybe we'll go to the movies or something. The weather forecast is rain every single day next week. EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!!! It's going to be a llllllooooooooonnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggggg week if that is the case!

The good news - it's spring break for baseball too!! Woooohooooo!!! DD's team isn't meeting at all! DS's team is still having practice. UGH! Oh well - it's suppose to rain anyway!!

229 hours, 26 minutes, and who knows how many seconds before school is back in session!

Mother/Son and other stuff

DS and I had a ton of fun at the mother/son retreat. We played air hockey and foosball and miniature golf and shadow tag. He climbed to the top of the rock wall, we hiked, we ate (way too much!), we worshipped the Lord - we had a general good time. We're looking forward to next year!!

In other news:

Somebody at CBS decided to move The Amazing Race to Wed. at 8 - who's stupid idea was this? When Alias starts again in two weeks then Alias, The Amazing Race, and America's Next Top Model will all be on at the same time of day. I think I want to start a "move the race back to Tuesday" petition!

Not much else. DS has a baseball game this afternoon but it's suppose to start pouring buckets so I won't be surprised if it gets cancelled. DD has practice tomorrow afternoon and I'm kind of praying it rains through then so that hers gets cancelled too. Then we'll have half as much baseball as usual this week and next week is spring break so that will be enough of a break to give me the energy to make it the rest of the season. Has anybody else tried having 5 of 7 days of baseball? Do the major leagues play that many days a week?

Have a great Tuesday!
