Less than 10 hours . . .

until 2007. Wow this year went by fast - faster than other years I think!

It's hard to believe!

I just looked back at last years New Year's Eve blog post - interesting indeed!!

Here's a quote:
So what will 2006 bring? My hopes - dh, ds, dd and I to grow closer together as a family; me living healthy and slimmer; the retaking up of piano; a bigger house; and all of us growing closer to God.

Interesting to me because I am a bit slimmer - not a lot, I'm working on that still for this next year. I have taken up piano again - much to my delight! We're still living in the same house. We are getting closer as a family, not as close as I like but we're getting there. DH and I have managed to have a date at least once a month since our anniversary - something I promised myself I'd make happen when we went to Vegas for our anniversary in the summer. I think our relationship with God has gotten better to - He's been more of a focus. I have not done too well in this aspect in the last couple of weeks though so I'm hoping to change that back.

So as a recap: in 2006 my ds turned 9, my dd turned 5, dh and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary, that part time job I started last year expanded into something much more this year with my taking on of the Children's Ministry's Coordinator, and life continued to happen along.

I think I took a more active part in life this last year though! It was a good year.

I'm excited to see what 2007 has in store - I'd still like that bigger house, but realize that might be a couple of years away still. My goal of us going closer together gets to stay. I'm adding to my goal for the year to get the Children's Ministry up and running into a vibrant active fun part of the church - a place kids are telling other kids about and they want to be there. This is going to take a lot more work then I'm putting into it even now and it's going to take a good dose of help from the Lord and a good deal of casting aside fear on my part. But with God all things are possible!!

Happy New Year!!!

Over for another year!

Or at least it will be when I get it all put back in boxes and back out into my shed!!

Christmas 2006 was a hit! We stuck to our 3 gifts under the tree rule and it sure makes it nice. Easier to figure out what to buy the kids and we don't spend all day opening presents. The kids got some nice stuff from the aunties and grandmas and grandpa too. (Notice I said only one grandpa - the other one can't be bothered - his loss!)

We had a nice relaxing time - started Saturday night with Christmas with my Dad, Sunday night Christmas with my Mom and sisters, Monday morning our own special family Christmas/day/dinner, and Monday night Christmas with dh's Mom. No running around crazy, just time to enjoy each other.

Yesterday was spent returning what needed to be returned. Today I worked. Kids went to the day camp at the church and had fun. I got some work done and could still check on them and make sure they were ok. They only knew each other so they spent the morning looking after each other - it was sweet. Too bad it didn't carry over into home! LOL!

Only 4 more days of 2006 and then it will be 2007!!

Happy New Year!!

They didn't ask!!

I wasn't forced to wade through advertisements for the newer better version of blogger - hmmmm?!?!!? Could just mean they're going to do it without my permission. Or maybe they got over it since everyone I know was complaining about it!!

Only a little over two days left and it will be Christmas morning! I finished wrapping the last present tonight. This is a HUGE deal for me. DH and I usually spend several hours dealing with it on Christmas Eve after coming home from the extended family get together. It feels weird to be done. Like we should have Christmas in the morning!! Sure will be nice on Sunday night to come home and just put the gifts under the tree and stuff the stockings!

The kids and I made it the House of Mouse for a few hours yesterday. Surprisingly it wasn't really crowded. We only watched the holiday parade and rode on the Small World (since it's decorated for Christmas and we won't make it back before they take it all down).

Today was the first official day of their Chrismas break from school. We woke up to pouring rain. It didn't last long though. Thank goodness because we had to run errands this morning and 4 different stops with two kids and umbrellas is never a fun way to spend a morning!!

I'm holding my eyes open with tooth picks for some reason so I'm off to meet Mr. Sandman.

Exhaustion!!

That's how I feel today!

It was a LONG weekend! Two SS teachers made me so mad yesterday they almost got slapped. We had our annual "all about Christmas" celebration (which I think is stupid to do during Sunday School but haven't been in charge long enough yet to tell them I think so!) and these two teachers started YELLING at me OVER each other about GLUE GUNS!! In front of the children no less! I was NOT happy. I'm pretty sure my eyes glazed over and the look on my face was "I'm not listening to this anymore" because at the same time they both shut their mouths in mid sentence. I'm exhausted from trying to lead people who are not on the same page as I am.

The rest of the weekend was spent partying or baking. The baking was necessary and I'm glad it's over. The parties were mostly fun. DH and I got to spend from 5-10 last night together with no people under 4 feet tall! It was very nice!! But I'm still exhausted from all of that partying.

I also spent time working on a report on a Californian Explorer. DS and DH were suppose to finish it while I was at Saturday's party only for me to come home and have not really much done that wasn't already done when I left. That was a bit frustrtating. I explained what needed to be finished but some reason they both chose not to completely listen - just add it to my "exhausted" list for the weekend. It got turned in on time though and I'll hear from ds in a bit on how it went.

Time to get ready to pick up ds and change for basketball practice. My assistant coach said she's not going to make it today. Bummer. Her son wouldn't really play last week so I'm afraid she might bail on me. I hope not because I definitely need her.

Only SEVEN days until Christmas!! (And I'm ALMOST done with my shopping! Wooohooo!!)

It's been a while . . .

Goodness it's been a while since I posted. Not too much has happened since Thanksgiving. Just trying to get my Christmas shopping done and my house cleaned out some.

The big Christmas production was at church this weekend. I kind of missed being a part of it. We went to the performance on Friday and it was soooooooooooooooooo pretty - very worshipful and totally awesome. I'm going to help clean up tonight and I'm hoping dh won't care if I sneak out early to see part of it again.

Got the kids toy closet cleaned out - got rid of a bunch of stuff they were just getting too old for. It feels good to have it not spilling out into the rest of the living room. Now I need to go through dd's room again.

We also got the Christmas tree up. The kids did a lot of the work - it looks very pretty. I got the lights up outside today - fell on my keister and am kind of aching now. That's ok - it looks pretty now. :-)

Tomorrow starts basketball practice for my kids. I'm coaching dd's team. I'm excited - I've got a team Mom who seems a little pushy and annoying - she may have met her match with me. LOL!! Hopefully she won't drive me too crazy. She wanted parents to give devotions every week - um, no, I don't think so. I don't know these parents, I'm not handing that responsibility over. Then tried to tell me that's how it's always done - HAHAHA - my kid is a year older than her kid and besides that I'm on STAFF! You'd think I'd have a clue! Hopefully she'll get it all out of her system tomorrow. I'm doing the welcome for several of the practice hours tomorrow so I'm a bit nervous about that.

I need to get my coaches book out and plan out practice too. I guess I'll get off of here and take care of that. I guess that's enough rambling for now. I'll try to remember to post if anything exciting happens.
