That's where we are after our few days in beautiful Santa Barbara, California. 48 hours of being just us - no whining, bickering, or complaining. We had a great relaxing time. Just what we both needed. It's hard to believe it's been 16 years since we got married. We've proven lots of people wrong about us - that makes us happy.

Now we're back to the bickering and complaining and staring into the face of a week in a small space and driving around our great state with two wild hooligans. Hopefully we will enjoy ourselves and they'll behave!!

It's only a little over 3 weeks until school starts back up - unbelievable!! This week will be about getting ready for vacation, next week will be vacation, then it's get ready for school week, then school starts! YIKES!

American Girl!

DD and I went with two of my sisters and my niece to the American Girl store in LA yesterday. What fun!! Dd proclaimed it "A SUPER FUN DAY!" on the way home! It was quite fun. Of course, after spending a zillion dollars on a doll and an extra outfit for said doll, it sure made for a super expensive fun day! The cafe was very cute and we enjoyed our lunch, so did the doll. Just an FYI for anybody never having eaten there - they'll loan you a doll to eat lunch with so you could save your big bucks if you want. Although, dd fell in love with this doll immediately and seems to have become a part of the family already. DD got a "just like you" doll and it is uncanny how much the doll really looks like her! Even the employees at the store were commenting on how much they looked alike!

Now we have things to tell the grandmas and grandpas to get for her for her b-day and Christmas at least. DS got to go to the beach with friends for the day - he was much happier doing this than spending the day at the "girlie place."

Today is a lazy day. Although I've got to get off my behind and quite being lazy. DH and I are leaving for our get away in 5 days and this place is in no condition for somebody else to come live in for a couple of days. EEK!
