Back to School

So the kids went back to school today. YEA! It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be - dd is already almost done with her homework, and ds doesn't have much so hopefully he'll get done quickly.

I spent the day detoxing - hahahaha - I ended up not getting anything done that I wanted really. I did get the Christmas lights down - YEA!

Saturday we took ds for his flight gift - it was soooooooooo cool and so much fun. He really enjoyed it and I'm glad we decided to do it as his gift.

Not much else going on around here - I want to get back into the swing of getting rid of all this crap we have laying around but can see that it's going to take me a little bit of time to get into the swing of things. Tomorrow I have to volunteer in dd's class and then go buy the art supplies for this months art masters project - so I won't get any house stuff done tomorrow - at least not big projects anyway.

Maybe Wednesday I can manage to get something done. We'll see!

Somebody I know kept a list of all the books they read in 2008 - I thought that was pretty cool. I might start a "book blog" because I'd share that with people I know.

So far in 2009 I've read two books - Home to Holly Springs by Jan Karon - this is one of her "Father Tim" books and was a fun, light read. I also read "Bright Shiny Morning" by James Frey. This one was an interesting read - not sure how to categorize it, I didn't like the ending at all so maybe that's why I'm having trouble saying what I thought. I'm in the middle of reading "Hannah's Dream" by Diane Hammond for book club. I'm also re-reading "The Shack" for a discussion group at the church. Maybe I'll get around to starting the book blog - I've got a start here anyway. And I do think it would be fun to see how many books I read in a year.
