Elvis has left the building.

That's what I told my husband yesterday when our extra child went home for the final time. It was fun having her here but it was really hard on my dd. So for her sake, I'm happy we're back to just the four of us.

We had a pretty good week. It's been "normal" for a change. We spent time with friends on Thursday and Friday - things I've been wanting to do this summer. Next week we're going to the observatory. That will be lots of fun I'm sure.

This weekend is the first weekend in a LONG time where we have absolutely nothing scheduled. DH wants to go to Costco and run errands - I think we should just do some fun stuff and forget everything else that HAS to be done. It can wait - I can do it on Monday after work.

We'll see. The waterpark was mentioned, along with the House of Mouse. Although a friend called this morning and asked if we wanted to hang out tomorrow night. DH won't want to, plus this friends daughter has been throwing up for 4 days and I do NOT need my dd exposed to any kind of throw up disease - she throws up enough as it is!

I guess we can't do anything if we don't get up and get dressed!

Oh and dh and I are "probably" going to a bed and breakfast for our anniversary! We've never been to one before. Hopefully our childcare won't flake - see last August's blog entries for the fiasco of getting child care for that trip. But we have made reservations and hopefully we'll get to go. We're both looking forward to a relaxing couple of days before we take the hooligans on vacation!

12 days until our bed and breakfast weekend
20 days until vacation
39 days until school starts

It's over!!

VBS is over for another year. My feet are sore and I'm exhausted. It was a good week. We had one lady be annoying today but I've decided that she's not worth the time of day to post it all out.

I'm going to focus on all the people who raved about what a great week they were having. I'm going to focus on all those kids smiling faces who were worshipping God with joy on their faces. The volunteers were so happy and they said this was one of the most relaxing vbs weeks they've ever had.

So I've still got a mess in my office and in the church's prop room but the gym is now ready to be used as a gym again.

DH and I have a date tonight. It's the last of our 10 great dates. I'm kind of sad about that. I hope we can keep up our date tradition after tonight. We've really enjoyed it and it has definitely helped us get closer. Well, I guess I should say I've really enjoyed it since I can't speak for him, but I'm pretty sure he'd say the same.

28 days until vacation.

Made it through day one!

YEA! Made it through the first day of VBS. But ever since first thing this morning I'm on the verge of an anxiety attack. I hate that. I feel like something is/went wrong but I don't know what it was. Most every one seemed to have a great day. One tribe got too many hard kids in it and I'm not sure what to do about that. Part of it is a Mom had a cow and insisted her kids be together. She's the same parent who always has a problem with everything we do. I hate feeling like she'd just leave because that seems like such and unChristian way to be. But she is just awful, not supportive, always mad, always having a cow about anything we're trying to do, never a positive word, it's exhausting to even be in the same room as her.

I've got to figure out what to do with her and her kids tomorrow. *sigh*

I can't believe how tired I am though - probably because I couldn't sleep last night. I just sent the neighbor kids away because I just can't deal with another child today. DD and I went to the park all afternoon with a friend. DS went to a friends house. Now I just want to take a nap but I should practice the piano since I haven't practiced in the last two days and I have a lesson tonight. Maybe I can take a 1/2 hour nap!

Only 32 days until vacation!

Time flies

Time flies when you're having fun. We are well into summer now. DS and I went to camp and had fun. I was impressed with the program at this camp. I wasn't impressed with the number of "strangers" they have on the campus at the same time. It was too much.

This week the kids are at soccer camp and I'm scrambling trying to get things ready for VBS. I'm starting to panic a little re: the decorating. I don't know what I'm doing and I don't have enough supplies to do it right now. Plus I have an extra child for the week so it's making just going out and shopping much harder. I need to turn a humongous gymnasium into Galilee - eek!

I'm sure it'll all work out, it usually does. I'm hoping those who have a better eye for decorating then I do will come in and work their magic!

Not much else is going on. I'm looking forward to and scared about VBS all at once. Hopefully I'll remember to come on and blog about the experience next week.
