I'm feeling better - although I got sicker before I got better. I think I had food poisoning last weekend. YUCK!!
Halloween is over - YEA!! The Harvest Festival went o.k. I feel like my kids got neglected for the day - dd especially. Thankfully she wasn't feeling good so she didn't seem too worried about it. Still makes me feel like the biggest loser Mom in the world. I just rushed them around all day and then I apologized that they were stuck with me and that I had no other options. DS said "well, at least that's not a bad thing being stuck with you." Probably the sweetest thing anybody has said to me in a long time. Every year I hope dh will take a more active role with the kids for the day but so far, it hasn't happened. Every year I say, "next year I'm going to ask you to take it off" then of course I don't. I think because I'm thinking "geez, it would be nice if he saw I needed help here." Unfortunately men never see that - and I forget that you have to point it out to them. So I'm running around like crazy all day, dragging two kids with me, then the event starts and ds is old enough to just go do his own thing. DD is too shy to do that so she ends up sitting by herself at a table looking forlorn - which I don't notice for 1/2 hour because I've got a thousand other things going wrong I'm trying to fix, and I just want someone to take her hand and go play with her and help her have fun - but of course she won't do that with just anybody. *sigh* I'm tired of missing out on Halloween with my kids.
I really feel like I'm doing a bad job and I think I might need to tell them they need to find somebody else. I guess I need to pray about it some more. I read an article yesterday that said if you're in volunteer debt to get rid of everything but your focus and then don't add any programs until you're doing that focus really well. So I'm seriously thinking about cancelling everything soon - everything but Sunday School. I know that won't go over well but I'm not sure what else to do. We need to start over for sure! *sigh*
My knee is bugging me - has been since I went to Japan. I'm waiting for the insurance to approve an ortho appt so I can figure out what the heck is wrong with it.
Tomorrow is the last cheerleading. YEA! I'm getting my Saturdays back! Which will be nice since right now we don't have our Sundays at all!! Only 3 more weeks of the children's programs and then I get a 2 month break! YEA! Actually, I might get a longer break than that because we're not doing it in the spring with this few of volunteers!
Time to get dressed for the day. I wanted to check the after halloween sales yesterday but didn't have time. Today there won't be as much left but I still want to go look.
Only 50 something days until Christmas!
